“I miss you guys”

When the world seemed to “open back up”, Pastor Carl invited us all to a casual post-church lunch. We hadn’t gathered beyond a church service in over a year, and here at Oak Park Church of the Brethren, gathering in fellowship beyond church services on Sundays is top priority.

So we brought our bagged lunches and packed lunch boxes and sat together in the fellowship hall on a stormy Sunday afternoon. Older folks, kiddos, parents…we had a great turnout! Some played, some spread out a blanket on the floor, some stayed for a couple of hours and kept the conversations going.

“I miss you guys, let’s have lunch together!” Pastor Carl said one day at church. And that lead to what will hopefully be the start of plenty more gatherings for Oak Park Church of the Brethren.
